What is 'Neet'?
The term 'Neet' derives from a specific group of young people and refers to them being, Not in Employment, Education or Training. In the past COSMIC ran courses specifically for this group of young people and although the 'Its Neet' course has come to an end, COSMIC is now a 'Positive Pathways' provider in Devon providing multimedia 'Neet' sessions for 16 to 19 year olds who have an interest in IT. the sessions free for those signed up on the 'Positive Pathways' scheme.

About an 'It's Neet' and session
'IT’s NEET' and 'Positive Pathways' sesions use I.T. to engage young people through the delivery of tailored multi-media I.T. training sessions. The sessions aim to instill a feeling of worth within the young person showing them how an improved knowledge base in IT can improve their career prospects, whilst having fun at the same time!
Project Delivery
An 'IT’s NEET' or 'Positive Pathways' style of session offers a flexible range of multimedia workshops, within a set menu offering a wide choice of new experiences for young the person. The course is set within a learning plan which is both flexible and informal; giving the young person a feeling of control over their own future.
Young people will gain experience in:
- Digital Animation
- Digital Photography/Image Manipulation
- Digital Music - Creation/Album making
- Website - Design/Construction
- Digital Video - Filming/Editing
- Computer Maintenance/PC Construction
At the end of a session the young person will come away with a greater confidence in their use of IT as well as a fantastic portfolio of work to use as digital C.V. to impress any future employer.
